Vocal Profile & Teaching Her flexible and clear vocality allows her to range from early music to the twentieth-century repertoire. Thanks to an excellent knowledge of foreign languages, she successfully dedicates herself to lieder and chamber music, resulting in a fruitful concert activity across Italy and Europe. She currently holds the Chair of Singing as a Tenured Professor at the Conservatorio Franco Vittadini of Pavia. Education, Diplomas & Training She began studying singing at a very young age under the guidance of Fedora Barbieri, with whom she laid the foundations of a solid vocal technique and immediately defined her repertoire. She has continued to interpret this repertoire to this day, remaining faithful to her vocal identity as a pure Lyric Mezzo-Soprano/Falcon. She continued to refine her technique as her career took shape and her vocal development consolidated: Raúl Giménez, Alfredo Kraus (Accademia Chigiana & Santander Reina Sophia), Paolo Montarsolo, Margaret Baker (Santa Cecilia), Nigel Rogers (Basel Musik Akademie), Lorraine Nubar (Juilliard School), and Alain Billard. Her extensive educational background includes a Diploma in Vocal Performance, a Diploma in Piano, a Degree in French Language and Literature, and a Specialization in Diction and Phonology of the Italian Language. Early Career & Competitions Her career was established by winning the A.S.L.I.C.O. International Competition “Monteverdi Project”, performing major operatic titles and madrigals under Roberto Gini (recorded for Amadeus). She also won the VII° Pistoia Competition for the role of Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, debuting in Lucca and Pistoia under Herbert Handt, and later performing it at the Auditorium RAI in Naples and in Grosseto. Since her brilliant beginnings, the role of Rosina has remained a cornerstone of her operatic repertoire. The Baroque Repertoire Since her debut, she has maintained a long-term collaboration with Antonio Florio and the Cappella Neapolitana (formerly dè Turchini), specializing in the rediscovery of rare Baroque repertoire.Among her most notable performances in this field are her interpretations of Provenzale's La Colomba Ferita and Lo Schiavo di sua Moglie at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, and the Bilbao Opera, as well as Francesco Provenzale's La Passione at the Lecce Baroque Festival. She also gained wide acclaim as Filindo in Latilla's La Finta Cameriera (CD Opus 111), touring major French stages such as the Abbaye de Royaumont and various theaters in Paris, Besançon, Lille, Clermont-Ferrand, and Rennes, before arriving at the Palazzo Reale in Naples. Further highlights include the role of Elisa in Leo's Alidoro (CD & DVD Dynamic), which won the Choc de la Musique and fff de Télérama awards at the Teatro Valli of Reggio Emilia, and Marioletta in Paisiello's Il Pulcinella Vendicato on tour at the Covarrubias Theater in Mexico City and the Cuyàs Theater in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Her most recent international engagements include performing the role of Giunone in Cavalli's La Calisto at the Theater an der Wien under the direction of Christophe Rousset with Les Talents Lyriques, singing the title role in Handel's Serse on tour in France, and portraying Bradamante in Vivaldi's Orlando Furioso at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, the latter two under the baton of Jean-Christophe Spinosi with his Ensemble Matheus. Opera Highlights & "En Travesti" Success Acclaimed by public and critics alike for her versatility and acting skills, she has debuted in major international operatic roles, making her debut in Gluck's Armide at the Nationale Opera in Amsterdam under the baton of Ivor Bolton and directed by Barrie Kosky. Immediately after, Ivor Bolton invited her to play the Queen of Sheba in Handel's Solomon at RAI Turin, broadcast on international radio schedules and streamed live on RAI Radio Tre. Confirming her vocal flexibility alongside her youthful and athletic appearance, she achieved splendid success en travesti as Dimitri in Giordano's Fedora and the Turnspit in Dvořák's Rusalka at the Teatro di San Carlo, as well as Cherubino and Ramiro in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro and La Finta Giardiniera, conducted by Claudio Desderi and directed by José Carlos Plaza. She also enjoyed particular success as a true Primadonna in the title role of Paisiello's Nina ossia la Pazza per Amore at the Royal Palace of Caserta, a demanding role where soaring singing alternates with prose acting, and in the sparkling, passionate role of Dorabella in Mozart's Così fan tutte under the guidance of Claudio Desderi. "A Solo Recital" Project With impressive creativity, she designs customized thematic programs under the title “A Solo Recital”. Notable editions include Invitation au voyage, featuring French and Spanish music performed at the Mesrutiyet Theatre in Istanbul, and The 19th Century in the Musical Salon of Europe, ranging from Beethoven to Donizetti, performed for the Associazione Scarlatti in Naples. For the Roman exhibition Concerti e Palazzi, she dedicated her program to 20th-century French, Italian, and Spanish music at the Museum of Arts and Popular Traditions. She also focused on the Wesendonck Lieder and Verdi chamber arias for the Verdi-Wagner Bicentenary in Tuscany. Her most recent project, The Hidden Composers, celebrates songs written by great writers and philosophers such as Lorca, Nietzsche, Rousseau, Bowles, Joyce, and Pasternak, with a recording currently in preparation. Institutional Events & Collaborations She inaugurated the 250th Mozart celebrations at the Teatro della Reggia di Caserta with L'Obbligo del Primo Comandamento K35 by Mozart in the presence of the President of the Italian Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi . In 2010, she inaugurated the grand reopening of the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples in the role of Annio in la Clemenza di Tito , conducted by Jeffrey Tate , directed by Luca Ronconi , and featuring costumes by Emmanuel Ungaro, in the presence of the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano . She was invited to Brussels by Martin Schulz, President of the European Parliament, to inaugurate the exhibition "Italian Works of Art" as part of the celebrations for the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. More recently, she participated in a special concert that Riccardo Muti dedicated to the children of the Juvenile Penitentiary Institute of Nisida, where she performed the most famous opera arias of her repertoire. Recent Engagements, Cinema & Dubbing Her recent operatic activities include Janáček’s Káťa Kabanová under the direction of Willy Decker and conducted by Juraj Valčuha , and Mozart's Requiem under the conduction of Hansjörg Albrecht with choreography by Boris Eifman, both at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples. She also performed in Bach's Magnificat conducted by Daniele Rustioni at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, and appeared in Era de Maggio, a celebration honoring Salvatore di Giacomo with music by Roberto de Simone , alongside Mendelssohn's Die Erste Walpurgisnacht conducted by Marco Ozbic. To expand her artistic horizons, she earned a professional specialization as a dubbing actress, lending her voice and acting talent to prominent international television series (American Horror Story, Pedro Dom, Mayans, and Feud: Capote vs. The Swans). Exploring cinematic arts, director Bruno Fiengo chose her as the leading actress in his short film Bagatelle , where in one of the scenes she performs Beethoven's Bagatelle op.19 n.9 live on the piano with the natural ease of a multifaceted artist.

  • COURSES & MASTERCLASS | France Russo Ermolli

Lo scopo del Corso è di acquisire gli strumenti per entrare in contatto con quella parte intima e silenziosa del nostro vero "suono" TEACHING & METHOD Free the Voice, Embodying the Music From the Heritage of Bel Canto to "La Voce Assoluta-The Absolute Voice" About Me I am currently a tenured Professor of Singing at the Vittadini Conservatory in Pavia. My academic career also includes extensive experience as a former Professor of Renaissance and Baroque Singing at the Corelli Conservatory in Messina, the Giacomantonio Conservatory in Cosenza, and the Respighi Conservatory in Latina, as well as teaching Diction for Singers at the ISSM in Nocera Terinese. My entire life and professional journey have always been deeply rooted in the power of the voice. To expand my professional horizons, I specialized as a Professional Voice Actress and Dubber at Voice Art Dubbing in Rome. This training opened up a whole new world for me in the art of dubbing—an extraordinary medium where the spoken voice leaves behind music and physical presence to become pure sound with infinite nuances. My Academic Background & Qualifications Tenured Chair of Singing – Vittadini Conservatory, Pavia Degree in Singing and Degree in Piano Degree in French Language and Literature Degree in Italian Diction and Phonology Specialization in Professional Voice Acting & Dubbing (Voice Art Dubbing, Rome) My Roots: The Heritage of Fedora Barbieri The absolute cornerstone of my vocal life was Fedora Barbieri, an unforgettable star of world opera. I will never forget her warmth the first time I, as a very young aspiring student, knocked on her door for the first audition of my life. She opened the door herself—radiant, in sportswear, smiling, volcanic, and deeply welcoming. She became my first, incommensurable Teacher and Guide. My very first "conscious" sounds were born with her in her home in Florence, where for years I spent hours upon hours studying every possible detail and nuance of the voice and the art that governs it. Under her loving and vibrant guidance, I walked a fundamental part of my journey as a singer. I owe her so much; she lives and dwells within my singing and my heart. Every day, I bring this immense historical and artistic heritage into my teaching, passing it on to the new generations. The "La Voce Assoluta" Method & Teaching Philosophy Alongside my academic career, I created a specialized method for singers, musicians, dancers, and instrumentalists, which I named "La Voce Assoluta" (The Absolute Voice). The purpose of this method is to provide you with the tools to connect with the intimate, profound, and paradoxically silent part of your true sound—freeing it from conditioning, blockages, fears, and self-doubt. My approach combines a deep knowledge of vocal physiology with a focus on "the body that makes music and becomes music." I integrate techniques of body expression, non-verbal communication, and daily Yoga practice. Yoga helps dissolve the muscle tension that interferes with breathing, empowering the voice on physical, mental, and emotional levels. Specialized Training & Masterclasses integrated into my path: The Feldenkrais Method (La Nave di Ulisse) | Hatha Yoga & Tai Chi (Chen Style) Corporeal Mime (Étienne Decroux Method) | Basic Actor Training (Jacques Lecoq Method) The Wilfart Method Working Together: Lessons and Student Approach I love tailoring and modeling my knowledge to the absolute uniqueness of each student. Vocal profiles are as varied as the people in this world, and every student has their own learning "speed," which must be fully respected. From Technique to Repertoire: I teach vocal technique, breathing, opera singing, interpretation, and repertoire, integrating elements of complementary piano, theory, and solfeggio. The Value of the Word and Diction: Having lived in France, England, and Spain for professional reasons, I am particularly passionate about the correct pronunciation of texts (in Italian, French, English, German, Spanish, and Latin). I believe diction is strictly tied to healthy vocal emission. My motto is: If the audience understands the words you sing, regardless of the language, it means you are singing well ! For Professionals: I support established singers in preparing roles, repertoires, auditions, callbacks, and exams, providing top-tier technical guidance. For Beginners: I guide students right from the very beginning of their vocal journey. I deeply care about this delicate phase; establishing the right foundations for vocal technique can truly change an artist's life. Lessons In-Person and Online (In Italy and Abroad) I offer lessons, courses, and masterclasses both in-person and online. I work across Italy (Pavia, Milan, Genoa, Turin, Rome, Naples) and in European Union countries such as France, Spain, and Poland, as well as the United Kingdom, training artists of all nationalities and skill levels. I consider the online format a wonderful opportunity for efficiency, time-saving, and immediacy. In this passionate quest, we must genuinely listen to one another, going beyond any physical or material barrier. Everything can be transmitted from a distance when backed by an effective method, clarity of intent, and a strong passion for sharing what we love. It is a great privilege for me, and I can never thank my many students enough for gifting me with their trust. Ready to begin your journey or prepare your next repertoire? Has just returned from Istanbul where she held an A Solo Recital at the prestigious Theater Mesrutiyet under the patronage of the Italian Consulate with a program inspired by the relationship between the Music and the Sea: Invitation au Voyage, a musical cruise among the composers of the Mediterranean area. The recording of her last solo recital “A Solo Recital: the Hidden Compwriters” which took place just outside Naples, in the splendid setting of cathedral of Vico Equense – Sorrento, where she gave life to some of the songs composed by the greatest writers and poets, from Rousseau to Garcia Lorca, from Nietszche to Joyce, up to Paul Bowles, therefore unsuspected composers of great breadth and musical impact. The purpose of the method is to acquire the tools in order to get in touch with that intimate, profound and paradoxically silent part, of our true sound, free and liberated from conditioning, closures, fears and mistrust.
